Mark and Keith, who put my work in their book, "Choosing and Using Paper for Great Graphic Design" (in the section of one off creations with paper). They happened to be in Beijing on vacation for a week and so we decided to meet up.

Guess who's Rollin' Back Prices in China.......
That's right its your friendly neighborhood
Walmart! I hadn't seen one in China but Keith and Mark ran into one across the street from where they were staying so I couldn't resist.

Turtles for play......in the "plant and animal section"

Turtles to eat, in the "seafood and meat section". Conveniently located about 200 feet away from the turtles for play.
Walmart China's shoe selection...
Walmart China's ladies wear. In
Walmart China one must buy his or her goods at each selected station, that is if you wish to purchase chips you must buy them in the dry foods section, if you wish to buy shoes you must buy them in the clothing section and so on.....which kind of defeats the whole all in one shopping experience
Walmart strives for.....

Lacey there is a whole row of Magic Bullets, like an entire section devoted to them!!!!!!!! (
ie the amazing chopper, grinder, blender all in one Lacey had and I totally abused in our apartment)

On another note...the water never fully came back on in my apartment after the one day Olympics construction extravaganza. I managed to squeeze this one drop out.....no shower for me.

The very first lawn mower I have ever seen in China...come to think of it one of the only patches of green grass I have seen here as well.

This is the forest they are planing down the road from me. Literally there was nothing there and then overnight they put in that row of trees you see. These are not wee little baby trees these are full grown ones. And currently there are about six more rows added to what you see as well as several hundred shrubs. They work with a mini crane lifting the trees out of trucks and putting them in the ground. I am very curious to see how long these trees last.

Laura,
It must be tough being a pet in China. You're never quite sure...

Dad
Eeeee, and if they're too tough to eat, they can always be used for the soles of... shoes...
